quick question for dually owners...
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/1326265754.html
my family has a towing business and I want to know if it will fit on our flatbed width-wise... the guy can't get out to the vineyard until early afternoon to measure the width of the rear wheels and I'd like to know asap so i know which truck I can use. so could one of you kind souls measure your dually width, or if one of you smart guys out there with books full of numbers could tell me how wide a dually from this era is it would be greatly appreciated.
for your curious types....
when the guy drove it last he said it was sputtering and popping, but before that he said it was a great truck. he's not sure what engine's in it, i'm assuming it's a 300, they had 300's in 66 right? and it has a 4 speed with a PTO pump dump that he says lifts anything that you dare load the bed up with... worst comes to worst I'm taking the bed off and putting it on another truck, but sounds like it'll be a perfect beater ranch truck for my ranch/vineyard and for the occasional gravel/dump/brush/anything run...
thanks guys,
jimi
These trucks came with either the 240 1V or the 300 IV I-6's, 352 2V.
The 4th digit of the VIN is the engine code:
1966: A = 240 1V // B = 300 1V // Y = 352 2V.
Parts catalogs, shop manuals do not give truck dimensions.
Dimensions are only found in the FoMoCo official Salesman's Data Books.
