one of the board members here put on a Cherrybomb muffler onto his V10 truck..

and to be honest i think it is the best sounding truck i've ever heard with a V10 in it..

to many of the aftermarket systems make the V10 sound terrible, cuz it will never have that deep/rumbly V8 sound...

do a search for the thread im not sure what it was called anymore, but it has a soundbyte of his truck... worth listening to..

From what I've read you just cant get a good deep rumble out of the V10. And some seem to have the decel 'pop' which sounds like crap. Until they make a system that somehow gets a deep rumble out of it I'll stick with my amazingly quiet ride. Kinda enjoying that. If anything I might replace with a stainless steel setup, more for longevity though.

you can get a deep rumble out of a v10, most people jump to conclusions with out research

here's the link to my site with V10 clips
http://www.team-mudd-racing.com/Sound-Video%20Clips.htm

a baffle style muffler (flowmaster, imco) usually sound the best. keep the single 3" in, and go with a 3" out or dual 2.5" any smaller than that and you'll get a ricer sound on hard acceleration....... stay away from true duals, every set up i've heard that's duals off the y pipe sounds like crap, no matter the pipe diameter!

Although I have never messed with a V10, I will say on the bigger engine, I would go with 3 1/2 inch pipe, and 2 chamber flowmsters.

A couple MFG make a muffler that you can remove baffles??? like supertrap ect. Thats a thought.

You also might consider checking the Viper forums out to, not to go to the dark side, but there is performance, and V10, so it is worth at least looking at.

Bigger pipes help HP TQ and deepin the sound, especially on big engines

i think the MBRP and BANKS are the only exhausts that have a 3.5" out on them, but i think they are both 3" inlet.

i'd still say stick with your 3"inlet........ some people have tried 3+" exhaust and have noticed a loss in low end torque. keep it to 3 or 3.5 MAX on the outlet, and you should be ok.

I've been looking into the Banks System for my 08, it'll probally be the exhaust i'll end up going with. I've contacted MBRP and they currently do not make a system for the 08+'s

My experience is it is possible to get decent low rpm rumble from a V-10, but at higher RPM, the tone gets a lot less pleasant. Ricer-ish is the most common description.
Not saying you shouldn't do it, but do recommend you find and listen to others IN PERSON before committing major dollars. And have it done in a reversible way in case you don't like it.

this is true....... i've done all my exhaust work myself, so if i don't like it i can just put it back, or change it when i get a chance.

if you have a shop do it, try and save the OEM components. so if you decide to go back to stock, you'll at least have the original components.

well i was able to get a deep rumble out of mine. its not really loud but it is loud and deep.

i have ebay headers, spd y-pipe and series 40 flowermaster. sounds nice. almost like a nonturbo diesel.

my other v10 only has a series 40 flowmaster dumped at the cab. sounds nice as well. but does have the decel 'pop' on the highway. but sounds great around town.

I'm looking at getting the Banks Monster also..(#48725). Someone here has it on their 08 V-10 but i can't find him in the 'search'. I'm looking for a system that has no "drone" inside the cab.
