Who wants to ride around knowing their spark plugs are only torqued to 7 to 15ft/lb? You can apply that much torque with your index finger. I know fasteners that are half the diameter of these Ford spark plugs that have a higher value than that. That tells you something and it aint good. Maybe these spark plugs should be saftey wired in place. You would think the COP boot would help to keep them from unscrewing considering they could have been tightened to the lower end of the spec.(7ft/lb). If I knew I was screwing a plug into a head(especially aluminum) that had only 3 threads I'd be very careful about it. I know swivels and extensions skew torque values, but many times it's hard to get a torque wrench directly on a fastener(spark plug) without it. What a nightmare.
