what gas octane needed
I would guesstimate you'll need about 105 octane fuel. Which is about 5-6 dollars a gallon and for off-road use only. You might could lower that by getting a big lumpy cam that will bleed off compression through vavle overlap. The problem is it'll run terrible at anything below 3-4 thousand rpm.
If you want to drive it, get the compression down to at least 10:1 or maybe 10.5:1 with a slightly lumpy cam. This assumes however that you're using aluminum cylinder heads. If not, drop it an additional .5 to 1, if you use an aluminum block you could raise it .5 to 1 but I doubt you'll like the price tag on that block.
By the way if you add a bottle of octane booster to gas it raises it 2 points right? Wrong. Read the bottle carefully, it's actually going to raise it .2 to 1, sucks don't it. You're 93 becomes 93.2 octane fuel.
