Gas Mileage??
Tell me if this sounds like my truck is burning too much gas. I just put a reman 351W in my truck. I filled it for the first time this morning. I believe I have an 18 gal. tank. Anyway, to work is 30 mi. I burned 1/2 a tank to work and back(60mi.). I have 33" radial on my truck now and I`m wondering if I`m burning it because I`m turning too many RPM`s!? About 2500 RPM`s @ 60MPH. It`s got a 2bbl. motorcraft carb on it. Give me your opinions please!! Thanks.

Gas Mileage??
half tank would be 9 gallons, that into 60 gets you
almost 7 mpg.Bad... unless it's cranking out alota
hp. For a comparison, my beast 1970 with 4.10's and
a 390BB 2v, gas drips out of the carb,couple burnt valves,
ticking lifters and worn rings,runs a tad rich also, it
got bout 8mpg at 60 or so

Sorry about that fellas-- I got in it this morning and the gas gauge showed it burned a little more than a 1/4 of a tank. So that isn`t too awfully bad. My gauge is messing with me!! Thanks for the replies!!
