Repost - Cam Dowel

I just replaced my cam gear and chain. I had to drive the pin out of the old gear. It doesn't press fit to the new gear or the cam shaft. If it is pushed into the cam shaft all the way, it won't engage the fuel pump eccentric. Also, the washer under the bolt does not cover the end of the pin on the outside. So, it can move all the way in releasing the eccentric or move all the way out the front. I don't think the fit in the new gear or the cam shaft is tight enough for threadlocker or high temp sleeve retainer. But, I tried the Locktite high temp sleeve retainer and the pin seems pretty well set in the gear (tapping on it with a hammer it seems to stay put). Going to see if I can get a bigger washer to cover the outside end of the pin so the only way it can move is in. Comments or Suggestions?

Ok, no answers or suggestions so I went with using Locktite sleeve retainer on the dowel in in the cam gear with enough sticking out the front for the fuel pump eccentric and the rest out the back for the cam shaft. I tried to tap the pin out after it set up and it seems to be holding fine in the new gear. I got a larger grade 8 washer for the cam gear bolt and it just covers enough of the side of the dowel pin to hold it in from the front. I used the Locktite sleeve retainer on the washer and bonded it to the eccentric to make sure it stays in place under the bolt. Going with this and hoping it works ok.
