This is my first post here, been lurking for a few days after finding this site off the rv.net site.
Heres my problem, Never had a problem with crusie, took my 2001 F250 Super duty 7.3 PSD into dealer for the CPS recall (crusie worked fine when I delivered it to dealer), they did the recall, and got the truck back. Not going out of town for a couple of weeks, next trip out of town, NO
Cruise Control. I have checked all fuses, speedo works fine. I called to complain to dealer, and they told me nothing they did would cause my problem, but, I could bring it in and pay for them to find the problem and fix it. I am reluctant. due to everytime they have touched my truck it leaves with something wrong with it.
Anyone have any ideas?? No check engine light coming on or anything like that.
Help please??
A CPS change is pretty straightforward, and it is difficult to imagine anything they did would cause your CC problem. Could well be coincidence. I've seen a few CC troubleshooting threads around here, so you might try a search both here, and down in the 7.3 forum where all the smart guys hang out. That is IF you feel like doing some electrical work.
Welcome to FTE. Unless there was some sabotage, I don't see how the CPS recall would affect the cruise control. Unfortunately with the 7.3, it takes a scanner capable of running a switch test to figure out which part is acting up. We could list off a bunch of stuff for you to start throwing money at, but unless you've got a standard tranny, you'll likely need to have the switch test done by a good scanner.
Perhaps if you tell us what city and state you're in, and also post the same question down the in the 7.3 section, you might get lucky enough to find a fellow member close by that has a scanner capable of performing the test for you.
