I have a 99 E350 SD and the CC and horn stopped working and the air bag light stays on. I think the wire plug from the wheel to the harness came undone, but I can not find it under the dash.
any ideas? thanks guys.
My truck is doing the same thing. The code being flashed is for high resistance in the drivers air bag circuit. My CC works, but the backlights dont. Plus my horn works. Just recently, everything stopped working, and then started working again??? Still cant figure that one out!
Anyway, I am pretty confident that it is the clock spring. That is the electrical connection between the steering wheel controls and the rest of the vehicle. I have found out that these are pretty common on ANYTHING with steering wheel controls.
I have checked around to see who has one and the only places are the dealer, and Napa. The one from the dealer is about $76, and has a 1yr warranty. The one from Napa is about $68, and has a lifetime warranty. (If memory serves, those were the costs).
Hope this helps,
Aaron
