Original or not
The shift dial has also been replaced. The original 1965/66 F100/250 C-O-M/C4 C5TZ7B033A .. Dial was NOT marked D1, D2 as the member above states.
Take a look at your shift lever socket. The original A/T shift lever socket used 1965/72 was replaced by Ford in 1973 by D3TZ7228A, then this number was replaced in 1975 by D5TZ7228A.
Both these sockets have a separate pointer (D3TZ7A110A) that slips into the socket, while the original pointer was made as part of the socket.
1973 was the first year the dial lit up, so my guess is, someone has replaced the original socket and shift dial with 1973/77 parts.
The socket is a Ford replacement part (and is still available from Ford). The light up dial feature was added by whoever did this.
btw: Does your truck have a horn ring (as original 1961/70 CC), or does it have a vinyl horn pad (1971/79)? If a vinyl horn pad, it could be that the entire column has been changed.

Shift Indicator Dials
C5TZ7B033A = the original 1965/66 F100/250 shift dial had green dots: P R N O O L
It was not: P R N D 2 1 (1967/72: C7TZ7B033E // 1973/77: D4TZ7B033D = Light Up Dial).
It was not P R N D1 D2 L (1957/60 F100/250 3 Speed Ford-O-Matic: B9C7B033A / 1961/64 F100/250 Cruise-O-Matic: C1TT7B033A / 1965/66 F350 240/300 C4: C5TZ7B033C).

More confusion. The original shift dial used on 1965/66 F100/250's is obsolete, and is not reproduced.
All the aftermarket parts sellers are listing C7TZ7B033E shift dial (P R N D 2 1), saying 1965/72.
This dial is correct for 1967/72. It will fit 1965/66, but it's not correct for 1965/66.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem is...as you prolly realize...that so much has been swapped around on these trucks, that you cannot always go by what you see.
You have to know what is correct...and what is not.
The other problem is...how many people know this today?
