I have a a 67 C-850 with just under 10K miles that has a ramp bed to haul my 350C dozer. I am looking to shine her up a bit and looking for the rubber mats, head liner and a new left side windshield. Anybody know where to get these kind of parts? I also have found a 56 F-800 that has air brakes and wondered how hard it is to get parts before I negotiate.
Welcome. First, look into some wrecking yards. If I recall, the windshiels are flat on that COE truck. Just about any glass shop can cut you one. Some of the parts from the smaller trucks may fit into the COE as well. As to the '56, don't bother, just send it over to me.... I'll be happy to take it off your hands. Seriously though, the air brake parts are pretty much the same as the newer truck stuff. It's all about chamber type, or qucik release vlave style. An air system is an air system, for the most part. I'm assuming it is a straight air style, as opposed to the air over hydraulic style. Pictures are a must when it comes to info on the older trucks.
