Ebpv?

On my 97 7.3 the valve will not move. I was wondering what direction the arm moved to open it. I just want to make sure it isn't closed.

The valve is normally open and it takes oil pressure to close it.
Here's a picture of the EBPV in the open position.

If you unplug the wires from it it will automatically stay open.

That sucker will move.
Mine acts like its partly closed every now and then. That sucker is getting zip tied open.

I would suggest wire tie it.
