Transmission interchange

i was wondering what all automatics they put behind the 400s in 1980, the truck is an 1980 F.250 4x4 with the 400, i looked at the pan, it doesnt look like a C6, my question is, will it bolt up to a 460 no matter what it is

yes it will bolt up,and i believe the only trany in 1980 would have been a c6 unless somebody put in an aod trans.
