Any body got any ideas on how to get more air circulating through the engine compartment. I have got to get the under hood temps down there is just to much heat generated by this BBF. I have came up with one idea i am thinking about installing the same fender vents that come on the 07 & newer super duty's. But i am open for ideas i need to get this heat out
Thats not a bad idea i have actually thought about it myself, now i dont have the motor work that you have- which by the way im in love with. You could also do a 1.5-3in scouped hood it more expensive of course
lol ya its expensive well back when i had a stang a company made a kit i think the company was called R.A.M or somthing like that i forget but anyways the kit monted under the valance and from the looks it was just a rectangle that ran across and worked as a scoupe is was hooked in the rear to some conduit and it pushed cold air into the motor which in therory would replace the warm air im sure you could make you wn pretty good lookin one for cheep then add the fender vents to help the warm air out of the bay
me and you are on the same page from my stang days i know exactly what you are talking about and i was looking at rigging some thing like that up. Tomorrow i am going to take the front apart and see what kind of changes can be made to get more air moving through it.
you already have the vented bumper like my truck you could cut the middle out of the two vents which would make it bout the size of your grill then install the inake part and leave it with the big hole or go on ebay get a cheap bullit grill cut it to size and do it that way i think it would kind of look like the new f-150 set up the only thing is i forget if there is enough room for all the conduit

i don't understand it either but it is really pissing me off. if i open the hood just alittle it is fine still hot though 205-210 a/c on setting still. hood closed a/c on forget about it will go until it burns it self down. One problem is that it's a 100 degrees and 70+% humidity.
every thing with the cooling system is new and the AFR is good across the board i have fixed that with the pms. It has ran hot in the summer since i got the truck. You are right after driving during the day you can't touch the hood for very long.
you said everything was new you got the right size radaiator in there right? cuz brad is right about needing to find a solution to get it to not overheat then if you want to cool it down more the venting would be the way to go
brads right too many people fix overheating by venting and adding intercoolers or more radiator when theres an underlying issue--for you it could be a result of the build more power usually = more heat-- but you should consider a lower temp thermostat i think
