? On D66

Is $850 a good price for a D66 that has not been used? I found a guy that wants to sell the one he bought because he decided to get bigger injectors. Again it is brand new never installed.

I originally wanted a H2E but this seems like too good of a deal to pass up. Just wanted some opinions before buying.

Thanks

Sounds like a good price. If you do a lot of towing I wouldn't use a D66 though. If you don't tow a lot it should be good. Not sure if it'll work that well with the stage II's though.

I think they are around $1150 direct from Beans, so $850 is a pretty good deal.

I just don't think that the D66 will flow enough air for the Stage II injectors... stage I's yes, but Stage II's are meant for more air like a H2E.

Actually the D66 will flow more air but the bushing can't take the pressure that II's will produce. It is a good turb as long as you don't make over 30 psi boost.

See that is what I am worried about. I make 30-40psi now, but on Baen's site it says it is good to 40psi.

Neal I am running the same injectors that you are on a stack charger now. If it was you would you just hold off and get the H2E in a year or so?

That is what I did. I was able to run the II's just keep an eye on the boost. When I removed my turbo it was still just as tight as new. You just need some foot control. LOL

Looks like you have a nice setup. Do you tow with it or plan to?
If so I would definately go with the H2e and get a modified one from Beans.

I do tow every now and then, but it is not my daily driver any more because i have a company truck. I would like to buy a camper sometime though and this is why I was leaning toward the H2E. Neal what did your modified H2E run you if you don't mind me asking?

I did the H2e and upgraded the intake plenums to the 3" inlet size. It might have given me a tad more lag but will run cooler. I went with Beans Billet ones but you could use WOP ones or even the SD ones. If you do this be sure and have Beans give you the Y-pipe for the SD. Also have him to be sure and give you BOTH of the intercooler pipes for the OBS. Hypermax won't do it for you but Beans will. It makes a whole lot cleaner install. Look at my pics if you want.

Neal I have a set of SD intake pentums that I had planed to use. Thanks for the tips on what to order and input on the charger choice. What was the total to your door if you remember and don't mind me asking?

I don't remember but I got charged taxes since I am in TN. I also ordered the plenums at the same time. I wouldn't think the shipping is all that much. That is all extra you would have to pay. My guess is $50 or less.
