Some of the older F250's use a 44 front axle. I just wonder if he could use the parts off one of them and make his a 8 lug and swap the rear. This way he would only have to regear one axle?
I'm sorry but I have see F250's with coil upfront. Only seen um in F250's with the I6 Engine however. Not very often. Was one here about a year ago. No idea what has become of it.
I seen an 93 F-250 2X4 4-door with coil springs up front last weekend at the junk yard. I went out to try and take some measurements but wanted to find a 4X4 with the leaf springs. No luck.

That would work.

All 4x4 F-250's were leaf sprung. If you saw an F-250 with coils, it was a 2wd, or someone did some customization after it left the factory.

It was a F350 you found. Ford didnt make a 4 door f250 till 96. But anyway, all 2wd fseries from 80 up are coil spring front ends except the F-superduty

Your right, it was a F-350 thinking about it. I'm positive that it wasn't a F-150 though. Can't recall the engine size though.
Ok got some pics. I was wrong earlier about the rear bumper mounts being welded to the frame. That all looks stock. The front however is a different story. It was what I was thinking of when I said that I was checking out the welding because he has two large welds on it. If might of been shortened to provide the correct location for the leaf springs. Maybe he just took the frame sections that hold the leaf spring front brackets and welded them over the original frame. I'm not sure. Here goes.
He mounted the front bumper to a peice of C-channel and bolted it to the front of the frame horns. I might be back under here doing some re-work to this frame. At least make the bumper a little more secure.
EW that is nasty! He used an 87-91 F250 front frame horns and welded them to the F150 frame just behind the Rad support mounts. I hope there is gussets inside the frame that the photos do not show.
I'm not sure if he did or not. I'll have to craw under there in a bit to check. If not i'll beef it up. I have some front steering work to do to it anyways (ball joints, drag link, tie rod ends) and I can do the welding while I have it all apart. Do you think that this would cause alignment issues?

Would the front springs from a 92'-96' be the same length and arch as the 87'-91'? I'm wondering if ordering a new set would fix some of the sag in the front end on my truck but i'm not sure if the years are interchangeable or which ones he used on this truck. Thanks!
