transmission swap?
hello I'm new to this forum stuff so please bear with me. I just bought a 84f250diesel with low gearing (granny), its a four speed and I was wondering if five speeds were available and if they bolt right up or what I could do to improve highway speeds It sounds as if it will frag out above sixty mph.

The ZF 5 is a good trans. There was a very recent post regarding the same swap you are doing going from a T-19 to a ZF 5. It was very detailed and included most parts needed for the swap. They come in two different ratios, and you will need a Diesel specific one as the Diesel has a unique bellhousing. The bellhousing is integral to the transmission.
