OEM Radio

Hi Guys, I know there is another forum for this, but I need a quick asnwer.
Just bought an OEM radio for my 07 on ebay, and havent looked into how to remove the dash bezel to get the aftermarket removed...also since this radio is a pull-out from another 07,will I experience any issues with the PATS system concerning its operation in my truck?
Thanks in advance for the replys!

ALLDATAdiy.com does supply factory step by step instructions to remove and install the radio in your Ford. Hopefully the factory antenna and wiring harness is intact. If not don't panic, ALLDATAdiy.com can show you how to rewire it.

Thanks, and if you have any other questions, please feel free to email or PM me. Good Luck!

PATS has no affect on the radio

the dash trim just snaps in there. Start down by the ash tray and gently pry it off. It's painful at first, but it will come up.

process is as simple as unplug old and plug in new. these radios interchange extremely easily

I did the same thing on my 04 and everything just plugged in. Even added the factory Sub and the wiring was already there!

Hi Guys,
Since we are on the subject. I just bought a radio off ebay for my 06 screw. I wanted the line out option so I got one out of an 07. Every thing works except.. steering wheel controls and there is no backlighting on the radio controls, and I need a antenna adapter.
Anybody know how this can be resolved without going to the dealership?
I probably should have just gotten an interface from Brandmotion.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks to all that have responded to my questions...Now I do have one more concerning the OEM radio that should be here tomorrow...
I noticed that on some of the other guys F-150,s there is a small jack on the "Dash Tray" that is supposedly for an MP3 input.I know the radio Ive got coming has this capability, but my trat doesent have the jack(or harness)...Since its an XL,I didnt figure it would be there anyway, but my question is this....My Factory harness in the truck(thankfully) is un-molested,and im sure the new radio will indeed be plug and play, but im also sure that there is another connector on the radio that is used for the MP3 inlut and probably alot more...Can anyone tell me which jack on the radio is this input, and additionally the pin connections for this.?
Lastly,Ive seen some of the newer Fords with bluetooth...do you think mine will have it,and if so,Ill also need microphone input connection pin configurations for that...
As always...comments much appreciated.....

Aux Input - Only the 07+ trucks have that. It is pre-wired in with the normal radio harnes and plugs into the back of your radio. On a 04-06, this is a blank pin in the radio harness. In the 07+ that pin is added.

You won't have to worry about any extra wires hanging out.

Bluetooth - nope. Ford didn't add that until 2009 with the Sync stuff. It isn't backwards compatible.

I suggest you spend about $550 for a replacement JVC headunit. Comes with in-dash DVD, bluetooth and other goodies.

Hi Tylus...great to hear from you...Might be missing something here, but mine is an 07There is indeed one big plug (truck harness)..I noticed on the head unit coming it had I believe three female connectors on the back,One for the main plug, and a couple of much smaller ones
I figured that there should be 3 pins (maybe not used in my case) on the truck harness that would provide the Ground(shield) Left and Right inputs from the "Aux audio device". I could fabricate a small harness to install a remote audio input...Bluetooth...no worries Probably wouldnt use it anyway.
Thanks my Friend.

Anybody need a oem radio for a 07 with sub input? It is pactically new, with the cover sticker still attached.
I'm willing to make somebody a good deal!

Radio

I've read where some people have swapped or changed radios and some of the functions had to be enabled by a dealer to make them work.

I have a 07 with the 6 CD player, I've had to have mine fixed already and it seems to be a fairly common issue. Just be aware of that.

Good luck on your install.

Paul
