The above was coppied from a Ranger site. Now it has been posted that the M5OD was put in the BII's. That would be behind a 2.9 and have the 3.72 first gear ratio. And all BII tranny's were 4wd. Even in the 2wd BII's Since BII's were not listed above and we know tk's and fm's were put in BII's it sounds like it is probable. So you could either look for a 2wd M5OD from a Ranger and have the tail shaft and housing changed or look for a BII with a M5OD. 89-90 would be my guess for years with that trans. But I have never seen a BII with the factory Dana 35 front or M5OD. All the ones I have seen were Dana 28's and fm's. But there are folks who say they did come from the factory that way.
I was over on Rick's site last week and saw where someone posted there were several Ex's over there that were running this tranny behand 4.0's in Ex's without problems. You might drop in over there on the tanny board and ask about it.
