I was looking around at 2009 F150 stuff and saw a chevy comparison on their site saying "Silverado edges F150". So I take a look.... Everything silverado "edges" the F150 on is features of on-star and one of the claims is false advertisement! They claim free roadside assistance with silverado is not available on the F150. Not sure about the rest of you but I got free 24/7 5 year 60K road side assistance with my F150.
Sorry just irks me a little but that a company makes terrible decisions, flushes my tax dollars down the stool, and proceeds to try and bend the truth to sell their crap product.
Ok I just looked again at the list and hands free calling is another "not available" on the F150, funny mine came standard. I thought it was against the law to publish false advertisements...
I seen that ONstar ain't all it's cracked upto be. They say that in most accidents the system will be unable to work for reasons like no clear line of sight for signal, Antenna because of accident damaged and system being unreliable. It's GM all over and they have to bend what ever truth they can to sell their budget products.
Ford is the competition an Chevy knows it. This new 150 is in a class by itself. I really dont think there is nothing out there to compete with it. Its just a heck off a truck. The Ford Chevy rivalry lives on.
i have hand free and free roadside, used it twice so far. broken driveshaft and an injector went out. stupid chevy advertisers. they need to get here story straight. who has the integrated brake controller, ford, first for rearview camera, ford ( i think), and the list goes on.
The part that I like is that there is a Polk logo on the side with their statement, "Providing the world's most trusted automotive information." Yeah, right...
As much as it galls me to say this, it is not Chevrolet making false claims. Although, Chevrolet is definitely guilty of not checking their facts.
On the same page, it states:
The part that I like is that there is a Polk logo on the side with their statement, "Providing the world's most trusted automotive information." Yeah, right...
Nice catch dude I missed that. These polk turkeys probably took a list of what $$$ onstar does and jumped to the conclusion that since nobody else has an onstart product nobody else has the features. Of course that doesnt make much sense as Ford has plastered the sync comercials.
So the bottom line here is GM used my tax dollars to buy bad information from these polk turkeys.....
Also it does not state when they were compared as well as level of trim. A lot could be out of date if they did this quite a while ago. Also what you get on a platinum vs a XL is great as well as regular cab and super crew.
Also remember that:
There are lies
There are Damn lies
and then there are statistics.
What happens when a person looks at a spread sheet and does not know what Sync is or another item is or used for.
chevy and dodge are both hurting right now, because from the factory their vehicles can't touch ford, no ones can. I just read that Ford finally surpassed toyota in reliability. There are now less issues per 1000 Ford vehicles than 1000 of any other vehicle manufacturer sold in America, that includes all the fancy european luxury cars and "rock solid reliable" japanese cars
Yeah I love it that Ford is making BIG steps in quality and its funny to me that while everyone else is running around looking for money to support their company to make more junk Ford is staying out of it and making some awesome products! Dodge and GM made junk before and they still make it and people know better for the most part to buy smarter. Its showing in the numbers.
I test drove a Silverado today. Crew Cab, 4x4 39K Sticker.
Pros-Nice looking rig. Good Ride. Nice towing setup.
Cons-OK but not impressive acceleration from the 5.3, I was expecting more. The interior felt cheap compared to Ford. Ford has always had the edge here and still does.
my chevy has an integrated brake controller as well

if you want to keep the statement accurate dont include the Chevy LTZ in this option. The LTZ has a very nice interior.

what happens when ford misleads the public on the gas mileage for the F150. I think all their adversigning puts in real small print......gas mileage quoted on single cab v6 with the 3.46 or higher rear end, something like only 5% of the trucks produced have.

Chevy and Dodge will both out accellerate a Ford, and they should. They are lighter and Dodge has the famous Hemi. But Ford will out tow both with a smaller engine. The Ford will outbrake the competition, it's more stable towing, and has more payload capacity. The Ford interiors are better quality, the frame is more rigid than the competition. And Ford isn't as ugly as the Tundra and GM trucks, IMO. And don't forget that Toyota has had rust through problems on their frames on past models. As much as I can find to complain about on Ford trucks, I can find more to complain about on the competition.
