Radiator hoses
HI, I'm working on my 97 EB 5.4L and am having a hard time figuring out how to remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator. It has no clamp but this blk plastic collar that your suppose to bend a small metal tab rotate the hose or collar? 45 degrees then pull apart. I can't seem to turn the hose or collar by hand and my channel lock pliers can't seem to get a good bite.

Did you manage to get the little metal tab pushed in?
I have gone in from the wheelwell with big Channellocks to turn the hose. It's a stupid way to attach a rad hose but that's Ford for us

I went out and bought a larger pair of channel locks and that did the trick. Once I rotated the hose to break the seal I used a long pry bar to push the hose off from the radiator accessing it from wheel well. I reused the 2 o-rings on the radiator outlet and no leaks thanks for the help.
