2005 ford excursion preformance questions

My dad owns a 2005 excursion 4x4 with a 6.0 powerstroke with aprox. 55,000 miles. He was asking me about cold air intakes and cat back exhaust systems. Does anyone here know what the best brand and where to order these?
Thank you.

I'm sure guys with six-leakers will chime in, but until they do, if you poke around the 6.0L forum and do some quick searches in that forum, you'll get a lot of info.

Well, since I have a 2005 X 4WD with the 6.0 maybe I can help.

I have the Airaid intake on mine and based on all of my reading I could have stayed with the stock Donaldson. Fortunately I still have the stock set up and will probably put it back on the X. So save your money there.

Exhaust, I have the SS 304 MBRP turbo back exhaust. I figured if I was going to upgrade the exhaust I would also upgrade the material, hence the T-304. I have never been disappointed with either the sound or performance of this kit. Currently I am testing the cat by using the MBRP cat delete pipe with no real noticable impact on sound, but more oomph when I hit the throttle. I also have the MBRP muff delete and will be trying it soon.

So there you go, don't spend the money on the intake and invest in the exhaust. You're saving money just sitting there.

Agree on staying with the stock intake...

Turbo back exhaust is the best for performance and egt control
cat back will give you about 75% of the beneffit of the tb...
but for about $60 you can do the lifetime waranteed Walker BTM flow thru muffler and lower you egt's on avg about 200 degress ....
