Does anyone know how to soften up rubber? I have a bumper that extends up the side of the bed, and I still have the rubber that seperates the bumper from the bed, but they are extreamly stiff.
(please do not lecture me that I should cut these wings off, the bumper came with the truck, and stays in the restoration, {almost complete}) Some say that this was not stock equipment, but if not, why do so many of them have this type of bumper? even if not "Ford", it was at least a dealer aftermarket option, because I know for a fact that the truck was purchased with this bumper attached. 66 F-250 camper special, custom cab.
thanks
If it doesn't have any cracks, then you might want to try baby oil or vaseline. Sounds wierd, but I have had some good luck with the baby oil. I put a couple of coats on tires when I first get them - gives them a good shiny coat.
