this post should be banned. Do we really want people coming in here and posting intelligent common sence advice...especially in precisely worded American english....?
You spelled sense wrong, and we thought you were smart all this time.

You think I am smart...eh. That is scary. If you think I am smart, you must be even dumber than I..and I dont think that is possible!

I am so dumb...that even the vegetables in my refrigerator refuse to waste their time bothering to try and have an intelligent conversation with me...

I DEMAND to be acknowleged as "master of stupidity". I have worked hard for my rank -

Seriously, folks - I apologize to the original poster in this "thread". We have to remember that not all of us were lucky enough, thru circumstances we can take no credit for, to have a little more technical knowledge than some of the younger folk in here.

Yes, I am right technically. "FREON" is a VERY specific trademark for ONE company's name for its R-12 refrigerant. Of COURSE someone not familiar with the finer points of technology might think all refrigerants are to be called "freon".

In case some of you techno junkies are curious, FREON is Du Pont's trade-mark for what we call "R-12" or DICHLORODIFLUROMETHANE CCL2F2.

HFC-134a (or Tetraflorothane (SAE/ASTM code 811-97-2) is a whole different breed of cat chemically. As many of you know, mixing them could destroy a refrigeration unit, not just reduce its cooling ability.

To be fair, it would be most difficult to do what I should NOT have made fun of - hard to see how a well-meaning but innocent back-yard mechanic could mix em up, given the mechanical differences in the fittings available to the general public.

Now...about those "rims"......

Remove it from the same donor Excursion you'll need to get your third seat stuff. It'd be too darn costly to buy new.

Back to the OP, if you do get it chacked out please share what they say. I think that my AC is very sub-par, even after having it re-charged. I need to take it back to have it checked out again but have not had time.

Sorry for the highjack!

You're going to need the lines (both coolant and refrigerant), the rear evaporator, fan and ductwork. it won't be an easy job. Do you have vents in the roof fpr the AC? If not, you'll need a new headliner, too.

+ you will need the rear AC controls and possible wiring harness and I agree it will not be an easy job.

I guess I learn something everyday. I didn't realize they even made Ex's without rear air. I'd hate to know mine didn't have rear air, being black.
