04 has difficulty going into gear.
I have a 04 F350 PSD with 57,000 miles that runs great but am having difficulty getting it into gear. Sometimes when I fire it up I litely tap the brake and it goes in with ease. Other times I have to push the pedal about through the firewall for it to go into drive. I had this same problem with a 97 F150 and it was the brake light accuator. But my brake lights work great. Anyone have or heard of this problem?

I was able to test it the other day by backing the truck to the garage door and pressing the brake and both lights came on. But that was after driving around. I will try it when it acts up again.

Just because your brake lights are working doesnt rule out the brake lamp switch. There is several sets of contacts in the switch. I just fixed one for a guy, brake lights worked fine. New brake switch fixed it right up. They are less then $20
