Its been a productive 2 weeks on the F250
Well after discovering an electrical glitch in the parts truck, resulting in zero electrical,i got off my **** and fixed it(many thanks to those here who had suggestions),which kinda motivated me too fix and/or improve some stuff on the other F250......The parts truck HAD a good seat, and the driver had a trashed seat, now switched out! Both batteries on the 72/75 were getting a little weak, and one had a slight crack in the top of the case,so corrosion on the terminals was an annoyance, and its alternator didnt seem to really be up to the task, especially when i had to use the winch last winter,to unstick the truck....a few days ago,i replaced both batteries, one group 65 and one red-top optima, and ordered a new 105 amp one wire Delco to replace the one wire Delco that was already there, which turned out to only be a 63 amp model, new alt. in today, upgraded the alt. wire to 4g......The truck actually seems to drive better with the 35" BFG's than when it had the 9.50-16.5's.....I also noticed that the truck idled smoother when cold than before,im wondering if the higher amperage alt is allowing the ignition to work better at around 600 rpm than it could before with old alt?
Im sure new batteries cant hurt either.......
