We were getting ready to leave on a trip to the river and right whenb we were pulling out of the driveway the service enginge soon light came on. We left anyways but while going up the cajon pass it would only get to 65 mph with it floored.
the truck is a 2007 6.0psd cc long bed. We were towing 2 sea doos
We have already had the turbo and ficm replaced.
Any ideas on what could be wrong would be great.
It could be a number of things, what kind of boost numbers where you getting? Someone else may chime in here so some good ideas. But you may just have to have it plugged in and retrieve the code to figure it out.
Sounds like you may have to have some more warrenty work done it. I would just take it to your ford dealer and have then plug it in since the cel is on.
Turbo boost specification MY 2004-2007 is a minimum of 25 psi in 3rd gear, wot, under load (uphill, towing a load, etc). If its above that then your boost is ok.
truck was supposed to be ready today but ford called and said they replaced a sensor for the fuel pump, and cleaned the carbon out of the turbo, but they are still getting a code for the turbo. The turbo is only 4 months old. should they even have to be cleaning it out yet?
