Don't think it matters, just make sure you get a 3" two-piece downpipe. The pics on ebay may or may not be the actual pipe you'll be getting. Verify with the seller before buying! Or, you could buy one from one of
the site supporting vendors here...
I went with Tymar Performance 3in two piece down pipe and had it powder coated as well. That way it helps keep most of the hot exhaust in the pipe and not as much under the hood.
I believe it keeps the outside of the pipe around 600 deg F. I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm off a bit on the temp. Though I did pay a bit more but I'm happy with it. I looked at it like If I'm going to do might as well do it so I'm happy.
I'm fixing to buy an exhaust system soon, and RPM outlets sells a nice looking kit. aluminized steel, and the downpipe has th pyro bung already installed. Unless I see something better, this will be the setup that goes on my truck.good luck,C

You may want to consider putting your pyro probe in the exhaust manifold vs. the downpipe. You'll have a much more accurate picture of your turbo temp. Probe in the downpipe is usually 2-300 degrees cooler... so you gauge will be telling you 1150*, but your turbo is running at 1350-1450* and won't last long at those temps...

Can someone explain why its beter to put the pyro on the drivers side EM?
I haven't done the mod yet but its a soon come thing.
Rocky
Simply for ease of installation- easier to get to & shorter wire run as most install the gauges on the drivers side a-pillar.
Just kinda seems like one on each side would be beter. Dale posted some pics onn his and it was on the drivers side, I can tell that it looks easier to get to from down under.
MBRP is a big, well known name in the exhaust market, so I went with one of their 3" OBS pipes.
What a piece of JUNK! Elbow welded on backwards and teh flange wasn't the right style. It was for sure for an OBS install, it was just a pile of junk. I returned it and got a Grand Rock dp from Diesel Performance Plus. The GR pipe is perfect, cost a bit more but is soooo much better quality.
I have also purchased one from Bean's and it was also a good pipe.
Just remember the cheaper pipes might not be the best out there...

Great to hear that I just ordered one yesterday from mbrp. Think I will get one from Bean's.
Much Thanks, Tony
