1994 F150 Problems

Hello everyone, I just bought a 1994 F150, It has the straight 6 and an auto tranny not sure which one, but I think its a three speed. It has around 250,000+ on it, can't say for sure though as the odometer doesnt work. I have some questions that I was hoping someone could help with. The motor has no power from a stop, it idles fine, but it just has no power from 0 to about 15 MPH. Does it just a tune up? The transmission shifts hard, and when you stay around a speed where it shifts, its shifts back and forth roughly. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you

It is essential to identify what transmission you have. If you look at the top line of this forum page you will see Tech Info right next to Read First in red letters. If you click on that you will see how to identify your trans either from the code on the door sticker or by counting the pan bolts. Do that first. Also in Tech Info you will see OBD1 self test which you can use to pull any stored error codes which can be helpful.

check your fuses in fuse box... could fix the odometer and the hard shifting
