I noticed that i am developing an oil leak that looks to be originating around the HPOP. I say this because the valley is wet and when I park at an incline, the leak gets worse from running down the back of the engine. Can anyone give me a link as to what the pump and repair look like. How long does this take to fix? Thanks in advance, I will review this in the AM.
if you go to dieselsite.com and look at their hpop section they also have install instructions you can download. check them out and youll see what it is you need to do. youre also going to need some o-rings and a couple gaskets to complete the job and you can get those at the dealer or order them online..........
^^That's^^ what you wanna' do! Guzzle's kit does the job.
Be SURE the threads are spotlessly free of any oil, and use the LocTite as prescribed.
Success will be yours.
Guzzle's out camping with his grandkids today, so it might take him an extra day or so to get your stuff out to you, but it'll be worth the wait. His kit is complete, and you can't beat the price.
Before you dig into anything............FIRST find out exactly what is leaking.
I had an HPOP leak and presumed it was the "non-servicable" plug,,,,but it was the rear plug....so I dod not need to remove the HPOP to fixd it.
Get some degreaser, an inspection mirror and a flashlight and a friend. first LIGHTLY spray down your COOL motor with water (no pressure....just running water), then spray dome degreaser (even a mix of Dawn Dish soap will work) , then rinse off degreaser and let dry. This makes it easier to see "new" oil where it is leaking.......then........While you carefully kneel in the engine bay looking at the HPOP w/ the mirror and flashlight.....have your friend give it some RPM and look for leaks.
Also look at the fittings on the oil lines in that area. Your leak is likely caused by a simple o-ring and is an easy fix.
