No Offense, but you V10 guys just don't know about the Wal-Mart bag mod....
If you have a 6637 filter or an after market intake, you put the wal-mart bag over part of it and it will cause your truck to starve for air, over fuel, and belch black smoke out on whoever happens to be nearby....
It won't hurt your truck, but it may cause it to defuel and go into limp mode, but it's nothing shutting it off and restarting won't fix.
Yep, it was actually discovered by accident. Someone was washing their engine and put a wal-mart bag over the 6637 filter to keep it dry. They washed the engine, forgot to take it off, and noticed the truck was low on power and belching out black smoke. Soon after, the wal-mart bag mod was born....
Do a search in the 7.3 forum, I remember seeing it there a few years ago.

Credit goes to the infamous tjbeggs in the OBS PSD forum
Sounds like you could add a peice of PVC pipe, a spring and a cable to make the same thing, but switchable in the cab.
Use the pipe to cover the filter and reduce the air it can receive, so it would need to be a somewhat tight fit. Use the cable to pull it over the filter on demand, and the spring to retract it when you don't.
