Limped it home last year ,found 3 pistons melted from overheating. Found water pump impeller blades inside the block when took out the core plugs and here she still sits. Although I have put a whole new interior in it & completely rebuilt the kingpin dana 60.
Day i got it home, with bad dry tires
Waiting for $$$ for heads for the 460. Swapped out pedals for T19 manual & went to Hydroboost brake system

My Dream Truck
This is my dream truck. It's an '86 F350 460. Auto tranny, 2wd but that will change eventually. My plan is to do a cummins swap, or possibly a 7.3. I traded a Honda Foreman that was broken straight across for this truck. Give me 10 years and a bigger bank account and I promise she'll be looking better!

My 1980 f-150 Ranger XLT
my grandpa bought this truck brand new in 1980. I believe the color is Sand or pastel sand ( depends on what catalog you look at). Freshly rebuilt .302 san jose CA plant car. Only one tiny cancer spot on the bed. The body has 126k and the engine has MAYBE 2-300 miles on it now.
Plans:
New dash , door panels.
Want to deep clean or replace the carpet
camper shell is gonna go
WANT to paint the side panel a tan or light brown like the tu tone package that was available..

Dad's truck has certainly come a long way from the heap of scrap metal it once was. Don't ever let rust make you give up. I'm beyond proud of the way this thing has turned out.
By way of comparison...here is the early tear down but "before" picture...and keep in mind that this had been restored once before in 1993.
