Is this normal?

Just got bored so performed the lovely turbo removal process today. And i noticed that the fan retaining nut in the compressor housing looks odd. Like there is wear on the front of it. If i can figure this uploading deal out for the pictures. -.- Just curious if this is stock as is or if this is somewhat of air /sand blasting the holy **** out of this poor nut. Didn't get the turbo off today. Busted my knuckle. So i threw a wrench fairly far and cannot find it. Will remove totally tomorrow and see how the guts look.

normal. I am guessing that the "nut" is machined for balance of the turbo.

It is for balancing purposes. You're good to go.
