oil pressure readings?

oil pressure readings?

well i put in a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my 95 f150 300 I6
it got 228 000km
i am wondering what my oil pressure should be around
idle 23-24 psi
1500 rpm 35-40
2500 rpm 45-50

dose this sound good or what please let me know
thanks alot

oh yeah and ford rocks

Yea I agree, if that motor has that kinda pressure readings after 174k miles you got nothing to worry about!

But either way its plenty to keep alive and well.

A good rule of thumb is 10psi for every 1000rpm. You appear to be in great shape.

Are these pressures at normal engine operating temperature or with the engine cold??

If there pressure readings are for normal engine temperature-they are outstanding-especially with that mileage (kilometer-age?) and if the engine hasnt been rebuilt. Is the engine stock with stock oil pump?? What weight engine oil do you use?? How often do you change the oil??

Your oil pressure reinforces what some many on this forum already know: the 4.9 is a long running, tough engine!!
