Problem w/Mach Radio
Thx,
I would look for a short in one of your speaker wires. The Ford radios do some sort of load check on the system to make sure there is not a short in the line. If the radio does not see the resistance it expects, it doesn't power up the amp. Everything else works fine, including the headphones, radio tuner, etc, but you just don't get any sound.
If I remember right, you can isolate the offending speaker (or speaker wire) by adjusting the fade and balance controls to only have one speaker going at a time. You have to shut the radio off between changes and let it reboot, but I would think it would start up fine for three of the speakers. I want to clarify that I am not sure if you can do this or not, but I think I was able to do it when I installed my aftermarket amplifier.
