black bumper

i have a 94 explorer and i cant find the paint codes anyware for the bumper i have some minor surface rust but i would like to take care of it before it becomes much worse
so does anyone know what to use for paint and which color for my bumpers

I had the same problem
have you tried the regular ford black from any auto store,
you know that little touch up can.........the only thing is that the paint in those are thick use a reducer mixed with it

dave, if you are going black, also look into buying a few rattle cans of rhinoliner or the equivalent. i did this to the front and rear bumpers of my chebby s10 i had and they looked brand new. make sure you definitely clean them up nice, rough them up, and primer them too. the only problem i had was it peeled on me after about a year, because i just sprayed it on plastic coated bumpers with no primer or no serious cleaning of the surface. it gives it a very rugged and durable finish thou. will resist much more abuse than regular paint will. just my 2 cents

I'm not familiar with that style of bumper, but a possibility for the lack of paint codes is that it may not be paint. It might be powdercoating. Look at the axle I recently had done - it's near the bottom of this page. Click on the thumbnail to zoom in:
