Overhead consol light is dim

I noticed today that my overhead consol light on the reader for miles left till empty, temp, ect.. is real dim. I think this happened before but I can't remember what I did to fix it. Any suggestions?

I don't think its a bulb problem and my dimmer switch is all the way up to bright but its still dim.

When I have my lights on in the daytime, mine is hard to read. There was a way that you could keep it at full power when the lights are on. I don't remember how this was done.
