I used to have a shake just like you've all posted. Turned out the auto hubs up front werent used enough and siezed up so the shafts were always locked in. Put in some manual hubs and havent had a problem since.
still gonna triple check everything under there but the guys at the garage think it was most likely the tranny that shuddered !@#$%^~@#$&!
anyways, i'm figuring i should probably go ahead and start setting $ aside for a rebuild kit and figure out how to get that accomplished. at 204k and most likely never rebuilt, my current tranny prolly doesn't owe anyone anything. *sigh* but the timing sure does suck. the master truck project list is getting a total overhaul tonight...after i go back out in the rain to feed 12 horses. and that reminds me, the back of my cab started leaking on the way home today
so i guess i'll be looking for some guidance on which and where to get a rebuild kit...
Don't believe them. A few years back my truck developed a shake at 35-40mph. I was too busy to get it to a shop during the day to get it checked out so I had my wife do it for me. She took it to a local tire store and told them exactly what I asked her- put it up on the lift and check the u-joints to see if any of them are worn out. Instead of doing that, they took it on a joyride, burned 1/8 tank of fuel and told my wife "the tranny is looser than shizz and needs to be replaced." Since I had no idea what a "tranny looser than shizz" meant I crawled under the truck and grabbed the rear driveline and tried to turn it. Whaddya know... trashed rear u-joint. I hate people sometimes.

i wish...and will certainly check it all again, just in case...but the shudder really concerns me, because it was loud and hard and definitely originated under the hood.
fwiw, when she shakes, i feel it only in the seat, not the steering wheel or anywhere else...it makes my thigh fat jiggle
