left field question for Bill (ND)
I know you don't know this, but I'm a children's book author. I'm playing around with the idea of doing one on trucks. Probably heavy duty trucks, but I'm still brainstorming. Donald Crews' work is great, although admittedly heavy on illustrations.
Do you know of any reference sources for parts, systems, etc? Just looking around amazon, I found some like this:

But yikes look at the price! There must be tons on the 'net and I don't mind searching around (nor investing in solid reference material), but just thought I would pick your brain.
