I posted this same question on the"Body Work" forum, and have received no replies yet (I know Carlene, . . . patience!). Since this deals with appearance, I thought I would post here as well.
Here's the story: I bought a 1990 F-350 that has a '92-'97 style front clip installed. This was done by a PO as a repair for body damage due to the truck rear-ending another vehicle. I assume the custom paint was applied at the same time.
Quite a few owners of pre-'92 F Series trucks have visited my album, and are very interested in performing this "Face Lift". Frankly, the updated front end was one of the key selling points of my truck, for me.
At any rate, if anyone has any knowledge of just what all is involved in this operation, your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance,
Cal

it shouldnt be that bad really, all you need are the fenders, hood, radiator support, bumber, gill and fascia from a 92+. just unbolt/unweld (is that a word????) the old pieces, line up the new ones, some cutting or trimming may be necesary for the panels to line up, the bolt and weld in the new ones, and take it to the paint shop.

No welding - it's all bolted on. The key is getting ALL the metal parts forward of the firewall, including the wiper valance & the bumper. If you put it onto an '80-86 truck, you have to fab a bracket for the lowest bolt on the fender (between the wheel and the rocker panel), and the bumper mounts have to be fabbed for '80-91, but they're both easy.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-17-03 AT 09:01 AM (EST)]Yeah, on '80-86 that bolt points straight up, but later trucks have it pointing inboard horizontally, so you'd have to bolt a simple L bracket to the old cab & then bolt the new fender to the bracket.
