tritan v8
i was thinking of picking up a 99 f-150 that has the tritan v8, was wondering if they were a good motor, or what i should be looking for as far as problems i may encounter. it has about 120.000 miles and is a five speed

You didn't say which engine, 4.6 or 5.4 also 2 or 4wd. Basic problems will be PCV hose problem and DPFE sensor with the engine and suspension wear especially the lower ball joints.
Overall a great year truck and if it's a 5.4 you get the aluminum intake over plastic and the PI heads.

''99's are actually one of, if not, the worst year of the run. Keep your eyes open for '00+. '99s will also have the cluster go dark, as will some '00 but it is very prevalent in '99, the back window likes to leak. There are other problems much more prone to that year.
