SD Transmissions
Hi
The transmission on my 1999 F250 SD V10 Automatic 4 Speed OD just went at about 130000. ( front pump seal? ). I had same kind transmission failure on my 1997 at 58,000 miles.
Here is my problem - I've been using my truck to occasionally tow a 14,000 lb gooseneck equipment trailer. I probably load the tailer to the max or more sometimes. I still need something to pull with. I think I'm exceeding the transmissions tow capability.
Should I
just replace the transmission with a new or rebuilt one?
or is it possible to put a heavier duty transmission in?
or even 6 speed manual?
or am i just kidding myself towing that much with this truck.
the V10 and rest of truck is fine ( for a work truck )
