Does any body know if you can use a DP Tuner gauge pod switch with a different brand of chip ie PHP or TW. I like the look of the DP gauge pod switch with the digital display alot more than the old reostat style ****. But Ive been more interested in giving PHP a try since Tony's been out for so long to be severly back logged, not to mention the price. If Im correct most all the chips are the same for the individual truck application, the only differences are the programs put on them and then the controller mechanism, so I think it'd work. Has anybody heard of or tried this?
I'm sorry, but it won't work. Totally different animals -- one being digital and the other being analog. We started looking into different switches awhile back, but after polling our customers, only a tiny percentage wanted a digital switch, so we put that one on the back burner.
I'll be happy to help you if you have questions about any of our products -- we have a sale starting on Monday, too!
If you're interested in TW, I can give him a shout and find out how long his lead times are if you'd like.
Too bad. I thought I had a useable idea. Oh well. Ive been looking into ordering a couple of chips here lately one for my 96 7.3 F-250 and one for my dads 99 7.3 F-250. Both very different in there uses my 96 runs oversize tires and is out for big power while still being a daily driver so trying to get a little fuel mileage where I can to. My dad on the other hand ises his with an overhead bed mounted camper, and pulling his fishing boat, the whole thing loaded down truck and all is about 13k. He is simply looking for fuel mileage. I had been interested in PHP simply based on your pricing as being a set number of "canned tunes for a certain price everyday" Im just unsure if those are best suited for what we are looking for. Also as I know DP specifies certain tunes for mountains and since we live in Colorado and thus drive in the mountains more than most so I was unsure what would be my best bet. Also since Jody has done alot with the colorado powerstroke club here in live tuning every year I kinda figure he's familar with with what we would be looking for. So I guess Im simply asking what advantages are there one way or other aside from price?
Just so you know, Bill tuned at high altitudes for 3½ years when he worked at Edge in Utah.
We also have several customers who have been trying to convince us to come to Colorado to do some live tuning next year, so we may just run into you yet!
