I have just purchased my first Ford truck. It's a 1997 F150 xlt. I drive about 220 miles a day to work and back, plus personal use. Have Firestone Wilderness HTII tires. I would like to have this truck last me a long time, as I use it for work and play. (It has a very nice bed liner too). V8 4.6 ltr engine. Any tips on special care for my engine, etc?
With good and frequent maintence that truck will out last all of us..
Start by changing ALL fluids Oil, rearend grease, coolant, trans fluid, yes Brake fluid .. etc...
Belts hoses etc..
Dont assume it is ok as bought even if it looks new!!
You may not like chasing someone elses problems later on...
Of course LOOK AT THE BRAKES!!
I think you see my point
Once of prevention = pound of cure
I`ve seen people spend 12,500PLUS for a used truck and dont even look at the dip stick
