Wifes 2000 Expy developed a problem last night. All windows work with the exception of the drivers. When i press the switch in either direction I hear a relay clicing under the dash. Before I start taking the door apart, does anybody have any input / experience with this symptom.
Thanks,
Shov
Update....
Checked around the forum for direction to take off inner door panel and found a post that said to hold the button down when you close the door and it might work. Sure it will,,,, right.
It did!
I gues this means dirty contacts on the switch. Gonna get some contact cleaner and fix it after the rain. Was able to do the quick fix 2 hrs before the rain started. Lucky day for me!
I hope you're right but don't get too excited over it being the switch just yet. Slamming the door while holding the switch is enough of a jolt to kick start a motor with a bad winding in it. The only reason I'm skeptical over it being the switch is because the relay was clicking when you were pressing the switch. To me, this says the switch was making contact even though the window wouldn't move. I hope I'm wrong because the switch is easier to change than the motor is...just trying to give you a heads up.
