I put new heads on my 1996 F250. I didn't remove the distributor shaft. When I first completed the project (and couldn't get it running) I remember trying to start it alot. Whenever I turned the key the starter motor spun the engine with gusto.
Now that its running it has a very hard start. Actually I think I can only get two starts out of it before it won't start.
I bought a new battery. Here's what it does on a second start (usually the first start in the Am is OK)
On start it goes....whaaaaaa whaaaaa vrooooommmmm
Someone told me it may have to do with the timing. I don't know if I want to buy that because the distrib shaft wasn't removed.
What do you mean by hard start? Is the engine turning over normally and not firing up as quickly as it should, or is the starter turning to slow to rotate the engine fast enough?
