brake work f350sd
was doing brake work 1st time on a ford appears thast the caliper pins are froze as the inside brke pad was almost gone out side pad was 1/5 worn any help on getting the pins free.was able to put worn pad and one new pad on so i can still drive the thing.I ve never seen any thing like this before.I am thinking that the pins that the bolt go thru are floating rt? the caliper still has to move so both pads wear even rt?

thanks swaybar I've thought about the heating them but the last time I did this on some Int'l dumptruck brakes the brakes would'nt or did'nt take to heating them that hot and the brakes didnot work well at all after that.I talked to a local county mechanic and he std that there was a tool he bought as the county vehicles he maintained all had this problem and that heating them was a way he has had to do, he std that the tool he bought worked just as good after a bath in pb blaster.so I think that I'll try the tool way first before heating them.thanks for your reply it helps to know i havent lost all my marbles,on a general brake problem.

finished the brakes today and I how i fixed it was that i took a piece of 5/16 thick flat bar and drilled holes so that i could use the caliper bolts in the end of the caliper pins and then after the bar was in place I took my air hammer and drove them out.Thanks to swaybar for his post.
