Thumbs down Weekend was a total bust

Well the X DIED on the way to Tucson. We made it about 80 miles from the house and we were billowing white smoke like a freight traain.

I saw before it got dark that there was some black smoke, figured it wass from being more loaded and heavier than we had been.

I was wrong !! The X is now at a shop near exit 156 off 25. Injector #1 is the suspect nad a full report is due Monday.

The first long trip was a failure for the wife's beast......

Life goes on I figure.

The word today was #1 injector. They said 1,5 and 6 were showing but only #1 was constant.

The estimate right now is $775, which includes towing.

The shop has a new compression tester coming in on Wednesday and will check #1 cylinder on Wednesday just to make sure. There was some fire coing out the exhaust when we stopped so hopefully it didnt dump too much fuel and get too hot.

Could be worse, hope ti don't turn out that way. We have a race planned for 2 weeks in Durango we want to make since we missed this one in Tucson.

Good news finally. #1 passed compression and LOOKS like only an injector. They did not get it done today but should have it Monday. Works cause I couldn't make it down before 5 to get it today.

Hopefully taking ti to Colorado next weekend.
