Top taillight doesn't work???/
Hi guys, I have a 1998 Expedition EB. Recently th etop third taillight stopped working. I replaced th elight bulbs and it still doesn't work. I need some help!!! Thanks!!!!

You have one of several problems:
1) corroded electrical connections at the bulb
2) bad ground
3) a bad bulb (which you changed)
4) An open in the wire suppling the 14 vdc to the light
1A)To check for a bad ground, run a jumper wire from the 14vdc return side of the bulb to chasis ground and see if the light works.
2a) To remove possible oxidation from the bulb socket,Clean the actual electical contact that touch the bulb with 600 grit emeroy cloth to remove any oxidiation.
4A) Pierce the wire that carries the +14vdc with a pin. Connect the positive side of the voltmeter to the pin and the other lead to ground and then press the brakes.....the lack of voltage indicated a physical break in the wire.
