Herculiner !!

I added some Herculiner to my wheel wells yesterday. It looks pretty good compared to the stock gray undercoating. I paid $75 for the kit from Walmart. The kit comes with 1gal can 2 rollers and some Scotchbrite.

Looks great! Better than factory. I will be considering this for my rig now.

Let us know how it holds up.

Nice job...

I have a couple of cans of undercoating that I've been meaning to apply to the wheel wells... thanks for the nudge to git'er'dun.

One thing I noticed in doing this kind of mod, the coatings that harden tend to see more damage than the nasty stuff that never seems to dry. The non-hardening stuff smears over when it's impacted. I'd love to hear how well this holds up to both dings and dirt, I respray my wells a couple times a year because I can't get the rubberized undercoating clean.

POR15 had a website/cart that seemed pretty reasonable.

Let us know how the POR15 goes - and pics!
I keep thinking about doing this to my frame - New England surface rust.
Last year I did a quick sand and 'regular' rust paint but it hasn't held up. Would love to hear a real report on the POR15 before shelling out the extra money for it.

Sorry for the delay. Work really kicked my azz this past week. I picked mine up at my local speed shop $40 for a quart. I'm gonna do one frame rail at a time.
I will get it done this week and post some pics ...before and after.
My first day off is tomorrow and I gotta replace my ball joints first...wish me luck..lol!

DevilDog,

Was wondering how well the Herculiner would hold up on the stock running boards? Mine are tan and (or whatever color they call it) and I am sure paint would not hold up long.

The rest of the Ex is dark green except for the plstic on the bumpers. Would like to do something with those also.

Thanks

I think it would hold up well. I would put an extra coat or two on the boards though ...just to be safe.
So far so good here.

What type of prep work are you going to do on the frame. I guess it says you can put in on pretty much anything but flaking rust. they also sell several other steps of cleaners and preps so I wasn't sure if you needed the whole kit for the best, long lasting results. not sure how bad yours frame is to start with either.
would love some before and after pics
