I might be able to get some parts off a 79 F-150, but was wondering if there was anything worth getting that would bolt up to my truck? I was thinking the rebuilt 205 and matching driveshafts, but beyond that, it is all 1/2 ton stuff and the engine was a 351 M - will not work for me, but was wondering if there were any other parts I might be able to use? Sorry for the rambling, I have worked all nigt, and was doing overtime this morning.
On a side note - Em, if you are reading this, what part of northern California are you from? I could have sworn I saw the spittin image of your truck this morning - in SSF. Em, if you are not reading this, then pay no heed to what I just asked.
The 205 will not fit. The unit itself will bolt up, but some of the small things will not hook up like the linkage lever. Of course you can make it work. And I am not sure the driveshafts are going to fit either.
Thanks, if I can get all parts for the transfer case, would I be able to make it fit? It has been rebuilt and never put into the truck, so I can get the adapter and shifter. My T-case might need replacement soon, so I was just looking at options. Would anything fit from the 351 M to 351 W including small parts? I hate to pass up any parts if they fall into the free category.
hey there bghnkinf250...i'm in o'town baby! that would have been too funny if you'd seen me out on the road today. I was out bouncing around but over here in the east bay. Oh and your handle totally makes me laugh
btw, double check me but i think you could use the seat out of that 79 too.
all engine parts out of the question, 351M = 351C = 429/460 bellhousing, and 351W = 302. If same # of lugs, wheels/tires will interchange. cannot remember small parts, sorry.
use tape measure, front/rear may work, have brandX half-ton w/ 1 ton axle in rear, just knocked out bolts, swaped axles, leafs and all, and rebolted. Of course, I wanted the heavier springs.

Just a little correction. 351m does not = 351c. The 351m heads will bolt on the 351c, and that's about it.

Sorry, but nope. 1/2 ton uses coils 3/4 ton uses leafs plus they are 5 lug as opposed to 8 lug.
The front axle and radius arms would be perfect for someone doing aTTB to SAS on a later model Bronco or F150 though.
